AS MONACO STANDS IN SPANISH'S FOOTBALL'S PATH IN FIVE STAR TEAM IN UCL

The UEFA Champions league has returned and although not proper, some matches has already been done on Tuesday with five home wins from five games, another core of great European football would be ushered out on Wednesday. With Sevilla FC crowned Europa League Champions at the end of May and with new UEFA rules allowing the winner of the Europa league to join the Champions league, Spanish seems to be at the top of world football but one team stands in their way to featuring five teams in the Uefa Champions League and that team is AS MONACO.

Finalists in 2004 and the last French side to reach a final in more than eleven years, AS MONACO has a chance to win and increase the number of the French teams participating in the Uefa Champions league. With the sales of Kondogbia to Internazionale Milano and another season-long-loan for out-of-form striker Radamel Falcao, the acquisitions of Stephan El Sharaawy will prove beneficial to the French side since his move is on a year - long and he can help them in many aspects of the game with his sizzling runs, passes and goals.

Joao Moutinho has been a great servant of AS MONACO and with him out there and the experience of Jeremy Toulalan and Ricardo Carvalho having played in some of the biggest games of the competition; Monaco would be the team to stop not only Valencia but Spanish football from competing with five strong teams.

They won’t have it easy as Valencia are no mean contenders having reached the Uefa Champions league final twice in succession in 2000 and 2001, they would love to be represented in the group stage and see where they could go from there. Sofiane Feghouli, Paco Alcacer and Alvaro Negredo are ready for the French club and if everything goes on as planned and they sail through, it might even prompt defender Nicolas Otamendi who is being chased by Manchester United to stay put because the Champions league football he seeks would be delivered at the Mestalla.
It’s going to be a great evening at the Mestalla and lovers of football would be in to witness a game which would give a certification to Spain to compete in the 2015/16 Uefa Champions league with five teams or see AS Monaco end that dream and enter a voyage of their own.
