MENTAL ILLNESS: DO YOU HAVE A FEELING OF BEING WATCHED WHEN ALONE

Source: Wordpress.com

There are so many instances that are far from mental illness and schizophrenia, but sometimes you might be watching a movie or looking into your wallet for your credit card or money and you might pause and look back and even check your closet whether there is someone available, someone who is looking.

It comes from a lot of loneliness and disappointments. People who are lonely do not want to be lonely but that is the reality and they realize they are lonely when they hang out with people who point it out to them. So many adults who are experiencing the feeling of being watched started off as labeling where people conferred it on them and they adapt that to having a stance on life.

It is normal anxiety to feel watched because you must have trusted some people who never appreciated that trust so you just want to be very careful. It comes naturally having adopted the solitude because the person inside of you communicates every now and then, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t look for help when you think and ponder over and about it till it gets to a time where you experience brain strain.
One time I felt so embarrassed finding time for many activities including people and I was disappointed all over again. But then I remembered what a great man called Dr. Charles Stanley said, he said ‘to be disappointed is inevitable’ but for you to become discouraged is your own choice. No one holds the key to the moment of feeling someone is watching you but you, a state of less thinking and more doing would be able to eliminate that.

You can talk to people you really trust about it, once again people you really trust, as many people mistake mental illness for madness or someone going crazy and might worsen your stance depending on the variety of subjects. The one voice that appeals to you and the personality that sustains you can play in your head everywhere you go and it might scare you but you shouldn’t worry, just enlighten yourself with books, music, become spiritual and above all seek for help and counseling from a therapists who understands and someone who just exhibits inappropriate humour about your pressing situation.

That thing you are going through, whether you are on your bed, walking around town, sitting on a love chair, being in a washroom, or even chatting with someone on the phone discreetly is something that is being experienced by others and therefore you are not alone.

Therefore don’t think you are going mad. Share your experiences and you would get a lot of testimonies that would enlighten your life and help others experiencing this as well.

WHY STAMMERING IS A SERIOUS ISSUE AFRICANS ARE IGNORANT OFF

One time I was shocked, was devastated when I saw a channel in Africa run adverts and interview people who have stammered on some of their experiences and how it has affected him. Because of stammering, He couldn’t take promotions and independently discarded himself from certain jobs like Journalism, Public Relations Officer and Customer Service because it dealt with meeting people every now and then and he didn’t have the energy to go about talking without thinking about how his body reacts every now and then. What happened out of his experiential knowledge was a group of people who were ignorant of the subject and were laughing mercilessly because they see it as a thing that is used to make fun of its victim and not something that has become a block to the victim or bearer realizing his true vision and potentials.

Stammering in Africa is not heard or talked about, sometimes it seems people do not even research about it and know the effects it has on its bearer so that people would know how to deal with a person with that problem. Everything has been covered with the colour of the skin of black people and there is no chance for a light to shine. Many people even regard people who stammer as people who do not share and are not competent enough but people who are closer to such people know what it’s all about.

If you have time, scroll through the number of countries who are part of the International Federation and you would be shocked at the numbers you would find. When I went down researching about the assistive device that seems to be suppressing the impediment in people, I just relaxed when I came across the SPEECHEASY device which was introduced some years back. The device has been around for long but how many of them are found on the African market. Their website directed me to a sales point in Africa where a message was duly sent via mail but up to the point of the author writing this post, no message has been gotten. Stammering seems to have taken a lot of stuff from capable Africans who could have done more to help the continent and the world at large.

Whatever happens, Africans should start appreciating the problems and research more into the issue so that children coming up would get help and be treated by various speech therapists or better still receive the SPEECHEASY DEVICE which would help salvage their situations and be free from ignorant Africans who see them as a prey towards their fun making moves.

THE PLAN FOR CONTINUOUS DISAPPOINTMENTS

(Psalm 42: 11KJV) – Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of your countenance, and my God. As I am walking down the street, I am in no hurry because I am just looking at the people that I am meeting across the street, some smile, others frown, but what could be going through their minds and their hearts. Obviously some would live to witness another day and others would not. Life or death we all have something amazing we can live on to make your life successful. What have you passed through in this life that holds so many disappointments to you as a person?
Can you compare the way you feel disappointed by God to Abraham who was made to sacrifice his son and the boy who came up to be the Governor of Egypt who is called Joseph.

He was sold by his own brothers and became a slave in a foreigners country but was encouraged enough to realize that these are dark moments which would lead him to enjoying all the good times he ever craved for.

So many people in the world cannot take disappointments; they would rather die than see the next day. But as you can clearly see from Joseph’s life, it he took his life, he wouldn’t have become the governor of the greatest civilization in the world, Egypt. You get disappointed and you have numerous ideas like Joseph which could have been used to benefit all and sundry. We mostly agree that women are the ones who can’t take disappointments and is true. A woman who loses friends, family members  and gets depressed but finds someone she deem a partner should not think that’s all but might get disappointed. The man might not take it us you have lost so many things in the past years so stick with you to the end. For you to stand on your feet and get out from that misery is at your own discretion. This divides your attention between serving God and fighting for your survival. No matter what happens, those are the times and moments that an individual has to concentrate and put all their trust in the word of the Lord. This is the time people who do not know how to pick up themselves in biblical terms do so and realize that God uses those circumstances to prepare us for the future and keep all our focus on Him.
One thing that if you are on the verge of committing suicide you should realize is that people who committed suicide did not believe in the words of the Almighty God, whatever they had to do for the betterment of the world has been thrown into the billabong because they heeded to the devil’s word and are gone forever. God would not give you something that would wear you down, He uses us in proportion to our willingness to be shaped.

SELF WORTH OR NET WORTH STATE YOUR CLAIM

Like you, like me and all the others, the current generation and even dogs take a sigh when they see a luxurious car. It has come to a state where people do not care how they accumulate money because that is what gives people respect in the eyes of the generation. This unfortunate instance has sailed on and it is making the youth in Africa cry out for money like never before but has clearly be seen that desires without purposes, plans, goals and achievements come to nothing. People would want a massive net worth but do not have the plans to get to their destination.

It is not surprising to see the act of getting something for nothing thriving on our continent. People want to give out notes for bigger notes in the space of two or three days without planning for massive breakthroughs which would see them churn out a sustained form of livelihood. People in Africa value and respect someone who come from overseas to an individual who has lived on the continent and has swam against the tide and goes with the phrase earn your worth. For a few dollars more, they get the chance of hanging out and engaging in relationships with numerous people because they can feed them for a number of days. People only think about money and success today but not success all their lives.
Looking at men of faith, people who burn the midnight candle and have become theologians who study in order to reveal the true revelations to help Africans out of the shades that resembles the colour of their skin and see light, pastoral work has been forced to become a lucrative business.

Nowadays a man who has been born to serve people makes the efforts to serve people and take them to the platform of salvation but then influences from people who are so close mostly relatives and friends who do not know the purpose for which made him that way forces him to adopt to the current order of the world and gradually becomes rich instead of being someone who was not lacking but had something small for basic subsistence and something which could have in part or large benefit the poor.

Honesty brings about a lot of self-worth and self-worth brings about a lot of richness. Net worth is just like success, the world has a way of defining it but above all as humans we are who we are not by what we have but what we are within so give yourself a chance so that self-worth would flow through you and net worth would soon follow.
